Pro Bono Award
Dylan Howard and Jon Greenare joint award winners for their work in representing an individual who inadvertently got caught up in a mortgage fraud scheme, having attended an "investment seminar" that supposedly represented a legitimate investment opportunity but was really intended to draw people and their money into supporting a fraud. The conspirators used the client's identity and credit history to obtain fraudulent loans. While the client was the one who blew the whistle, she was sued by the lender as well as other participants in the fraud. The work of Dylan and Jon, together with shareholder Linda Finley, resulted in dismissal of all claims against our client. The matter was referred by the Georgia Real Estate Fraud Prevention Awareness Coalition, which has otherwise had great difficulty in persuading attorneys to handle these matters on a pro bono basis.
